JORDAN TRAVEL GUIDE
Jordan, an Arab nation on the east bank of the Jordan River, is defined by ancient monuments, nature reserves and seaside resorts. It’s home to the famed archaeological site of Petra, the Nabatean capital dating to around 300 B.C. Set in a narrow valley with tombs, temples and monuments carved into the surrounding pink sandstone cliffs, Petra earns its nickname, the "Rose City."
Jordan is one of the most hospitable and welcoming countries in the world. In the Middle East, which has a reputation for being exceptionally male-oriented, Jordan comes across as a cool breath of equality. Famous for its pink Petra caves, glimpses of ancient Greek, Roman temples, amphitheatres and gateways and samples of Christian civilisation. Jordan isn’t quite swamped by tourists though. The tensions of the region are to blame for that, but don’t get taken in by incomplete information – Jordan is a safe place, as safe as any place around the world.

BEST TIME TO VISIT JORDAN
Jordan has two main seasons: a warm, dry season and a cool, wet season. The warm, dry season lasts from April to October, and the cool, wet season lasts from November to March.
